City Compost Site

The City compost site is open to residents for disposal of yard waste and tree limbs only.  Located east of the City ball fields at 8th and Clay Streets.

The site is checked on a daily basis to be sure it isn't being abused and only yard waste and tree limbs are being left.  If this privilege is found to be abused, changes will be made to rectify the situation.  Camera footage will be reviewed if items are dumped that are not allowed and any unauthorized dumping will result in a citation by the Ashland Police Department.

*This site is not to be used for processed wood i.e. wood fence waste, railroad ties, etc.  Yard and tree waste only!

* Loads must be separated so material can be dropped off properly; tree branches cannot be mixed in with the grass clippings and leaves.

*Tree branches must be no longer than 8 feet in length.  No stumps of any kind will be accepted.

*No trash of any kind will be left at the sight.  All trash bags and other materials will need to be removed with the person dropping off the yard waste.

*The compost site rules are subject to change at any time if the City sees a need to do so.

*Businesses are no longer allowed to drop of materials at the compost site regardless of where the tree was originally located.

Residents are welcome to take mulch from the mulch pile and any tree limbs for residential fire pits.  Please be careful while cutting/loading on City property.
